ONMix is a website born of the desire for a relaxed, friendly, community forum. Primarily ONMix exists for this community, and it is from this community that the portal was born; the portal being the first thing you see when visiting ONMix.co.uk, there to promote the work of ONMix users, and more specifically, their literary output. There is a dedicated writing team, the job of which is to provide regular content for the portal, but users do not have to be part of this team to see their work up there! Any ONMix member can submit articles to the writing staff; if they are deemed good enough, they appear on the front page.

ONMix was formed from the metaphorical ashes of the Official Nintendo Magazine forums; though this site still exists, users became tired of the lacklustre administration effort. ONMix came into being sometime in May 2009, pretty much on a whim after some mild discussion, and has been coexisting happily (pretty much) ever since.
